Tech Question - Leaf Spring Appearance

Mike,

Bought a set of OEM rear leaf springs for my '70 Boss 302 Mustang.
I have no problem with the quality and specs of these springs but, when you advertized OEM correct replacement springs.... I was really disappointed when they arrived that they didn`t look the same in appearance detail as the factory units.
The Ford factory individual spring leafs are tapered on each end at the sides where as your replacements are not.
I am building a high point show car so this really was a disappointment as mentioned.
I am, though, very satisfied with the fit, ride hight and ratings of your springs.
You might consider mentioning this when discribing springs as correct OEM replacement.
Thank you for your ear,
Clarence.

Clarence,

Thanks for your e-mail, however, I question the source of the springs you are comparing our spring to.
Our springs are made on the same exact tooling that was used to make Ford leaf springs.
Rockwell was the OE source for Ford and when Rockwell went out of the leaf spring manufacturing business many, many years ago our plant bought all their tooling. Much of it is still being used today.
What happens is others also make springs and they do not have the correct prints and or tooling.
So more than likely the springs you are comparing ours to are not original springs.
Mike
