Tech Question - Extreme Lift

I'm in need of some custom springs, and I'm trying to gather information from every company I can so as to get the best spring for the best price. I have a 1993 Jeep Cherokee, 4-dr, 4.0 I6 Engine, Automatic Trans, 4x4.

I am wanting to lift my Jeep, and the lift I need to attain for what I am wanting to do is 7 Inches.

I need a pair of coils for the front, and a pair of leaf assemblies for the rear that will give me my 7 Inches of lift while maintaining a tolerable ride comfort.

Sorry Matt we do not make springs with that much lift, nor do I know who does.

Be advised that price is the last thing you want to be concerned with when lifting a vehicle that high. There are a whole lot of things to be concerned with to keep your ride safe; for not only you but for other vehicles around you. When building lift kits that take all the safety items into concern, the price goes up.

So make safety your main concern, not price. Do not be cheap with your life.

I have written before and was pleased with the cooperation. We are in allied fields, so I periodically look at your tech questions to see what the world is doing. I also gain valuable information in support of our product lines. In reference to the most recent question regarding lifting a Cherokee, I can offer some additional thoughts to the (potential) customer.

None of the suspension lift manufacturers offer more than four Inches of lift in a kit for the XJ vehicles. In general, this allows the XJ to be at least moderately street legal. This ignores the potential of running afoul of various state or provincial statutes. This also ignores the stresses on steering and driveline components, and sourcing shocks which will be long enough and soft enough so as not to beat him to death.

Another aspect of attempting to lift the XJ which the young man may be missing, is that the XJ is a unibody platform. I can only imagine the stresses placed on the platform with a tall lift such as the young man envisions. I believe you will agree that in order to accomplish his dream, the young man will need several pockets full of cash, a spectacular fabrication facility and many weeks of time.
