The 1967 model year featured only minor styling changes, mostly in the front grille, tail light panel, and rocker panel trim. A GM corporate-wide mandate prohibited multi-carburetor engines, (except for the Corvette) so the Tri-Power 3x2-barrel system was no longer available.

Good news arrived in the form of a 400 cubic inch motor, a bored out version of the 389. The top of the line motor was the Ram Air (now the Pontiac brand name for fresh-air induction) 400 which had a lot in common with the XS motor option offered in 1966.

Trivia Time--this is the first year that the automatic transmission option surpassed the choice of a syncromesh trans in the Pontiac supercar.
